Terms for Investors
1. Definitions
"Backer" refers to any individual or entity that invests in startups through DivestWorld. "Startup" refers to the company seeking funding.
2. Investment Terms
- Minimum investment amounts vary by startup
- Investment types include equity, convertible notes, and revenue share
- Terms are set by each startup and agreed upon before investment
3. Backer Responsibilities
- Verify accredited investor status if required
- Conduct personal due diligence
- Provide accurate information
- Comply with all applicable laws
4. Risk Acknowledgment
By investing, you acknowledge that:
- Startup investments are high-risk
- You may lose your entire investment
- Returns are not guaranteed
- Investments may be illiquid
5. Payment Processing
All investments are processed through our secure payment system. Funds are held in escrow until investment terms are finalized.
6. Communication
Startups will provide regular updates to backers. DivestWorld facilitates but does not guarantee communication.
7. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes between backers and startups will be resolved through mediation. DivestWorld may assist but is not a party to such disputes.
